Are you a pet photographer frequently on the move? Do you find it challenging to manage your images while traveling for workshops or shoots? This video will guide you through a simple and effective method of managing traveling catalogs using Adobe Lightroom.
Returning from Barklander, a pet photography workshop held in Scotland, I was tasked with importing and organizing a multitude of images captured during the event. This video shares my approach, outlining how to efficiently import images from an external hard drive to a main machine while maintaining an organized Lightroom catalog.
We'll explore creating a new Lightroom catalog for each journey, using a consistent labeling system, and importing the catalog into the main machine's primary catalog. We also discuss how to effectively copy new photos to a new location during import to ensure your photos are not only in the Lightroom catalog but also in the designated location on your main machine's external hard drive.
By the end of the video, you'll be equipped with tips and tricks to keep your images well-organized, even while traveling. This knowledge will streamline your post-production process, giving you more time to focus on what matters most – capturing stunning pet portraits.
